Margate Coastguard is warning the public to stay clear of an area between Ramsgate and Dumpton following a cliff rock fall this morning (January 9).
Mark Stanford, from Ramsgate, was on the beach when the rocks collapsed on to the beach below, He said: “I was looking out to sea and heard a rumble. I turned around just as the bits were landing on the beach!”

Climate conditions, such as a period of heavy rain which seeps into the cliffs followed by cold nights that can freeze and crack the chalk, and corrosion generally cause such falls.
