A flood warning has been issued for the coastline between Margate and Whistable today (January 8).

High water is expected due to a tidal surge, spring tides and strong winds. Tides will be at their highest at around 2pm today but conditions may apply one to two hours either side of the high tide.

Flooding to promenades, coastal footpaths and low-lying land is possible. People are advised to avoid low-lying areas close to high tide. Flooding of properties is not forecast and no flooding is expected from the hide tide overnight.
