Car overturns on the Thanet Way close to St Nicholas-at-Wade

Traffic built on the London-bound Thanet Way this afternoon (January 8) after a crash between the St Nicholas-at-Wade roundabout and Brook Lane.

A car overturned on to its roof on the westbound lane at Brook Lane (Marshside turn off).

Emergency services attended the scene and two people were taken to hospital

A South East Coast Ambulance service spokesman said: “Ambulance crews have attended the scene of a road traffic collision on the A299 reported to us at approximately 1.50pm today. Two patients have been taken to QEQM and William Harvey Hospital respectively.”

A Kent Police spokesman added: “Kent Police was called at 1.45pm to a report of a single vehicle collision involving a black Mini Cooper on the Londonbound carriageway of the A299 Thanet Way at Herne Bay.

“The male driver was taken to the William Harvey Hospital. The road was closed while the vehicle was recovered and had re-opened by 4pm.”
