Crowds gathered at Ramsgate seafront at midnight to see in the new year by watching a laser show over the harbour.
The lights were organised by Visit Ramsgate and Ramsgate Town Council and put on by Definitive Special Projects Ltd.
The show started at midnight and ran for about 15 minutes. There were some complaints that the display was not visible to all but the best viewing points were at the harbour, by The Royal, and further afield at spots including Ellington Park.
The show followed on from the Northern Lights display at the harbour over the Christmas period.
