A Toy Fort Grotto with six metre high turrets, spectacular light display and entertainment from guests including a yet-to-be announced celebrity and Broadstairs schoolgirl Mabel Walton will mark the Christmas light switch on at Westwood Cross.
The mystery celebrity will press the button and turn on the spectacular Christmas light display at the shopping centre on Friday, November 16. The show starts at 4pm with the all-important switch on at 6pm.
Entertainment will continue until 6.30pm leaving enough time to enjoy the shops until 7.30pm and continue the evening with a trip to the cinema or one of the restaurants.
This year the line-up features popular Abba tribute band, Björn Again and Tyber, lead singer of The Dualers. Joining them on stage will be the ‘Westwood Cross Young Performer of the Year’, 11-year-old Mabel Walton (pictured below) as well as other talented musicians and local entertainers.
Centre manager Francesca Donovan said: “Last year we welcomed Love Island stars Marcel and Gabby to switch on Christmas at Westwood Cross. This year we will be bringing another popular celebrity to Thanet, we will be announcing who that person is soon so keep checking our social media pages for clues and the big reveal!
“The big Christmas lights switch on really marks the start of the festive season and we welcome all guests to enjoy shopping for the perfect gifts for their loved ones.”
