The Palace Cinema in Broadstairs is hosting a young film programmers’ group.
The group offers 19-24 year-olds the chance to understand all aspects of selecting films for cinemas in the context of film distribution and exhibition, and how to market them by writing copy, strategic use of social media and local publicity.
This will be put directly into practice as the group creates regular film events for public audiences, focusing on classic, independent and world cinema:
The group meets regularly at the Palace Cinema between October 2018-April 2019. It is free to take part and no experience is needed.
Snacks and drinks are provided.
There will be an introductory session at the Palace on Friday (October 12) at 5.30pm for young people to meet the team and find out more.
