Wizard teas at Happily Ever Afters

A magical shop in Margate Old Town  is inviting people to book for Wizarding afternoon teas.

Happily Ever Afters opened last year after being transformed by dance school owner Heidi Moran and her team to create a downstairs enchanted garden party room, dance class area, tea room and even a pirate-themed toilet.

In April an amazing staircase featuring classic fairytale books was added and then the venue opened a Pixie Dust hairdressers for children behind a magical set of doors which open out to create the salon and then shut it away again when the area is being used as a party space.

Now they have launched their latest magical addition with the wizarding teas.

Customers can enter a tearoom with ‘flying keys and floating candles’ where they will make their own drinking potion.

That is followed by treats such as finger sandwiches, Philosopher’s Scones, Sorting Hat Cake, Edible Golden Snitch, Jelly Beans, Chocolate Frogs, a Sherbet Lemon Sundae, Butterbeer, and unlimited tea.

Mum-of-two Heidi is no stranger to the world of theatrics, she has been running Stage Door theatre company in Ramsgate for more than 10 years and the Happily Ever After Princess Agency, which supplies characters for the Make A Wish foundation, since 2011.

Her team of characters are an integral part of the Happily Ever Afters shop and each new addition adds to the fairytale theme.

The wizarding teas were inspired by the popularity of Harry Potter themed birthday parties at the venue.

Heidi said: “We put the Halloween event together because our wizard inspired birthday parties proved so popular and we had just as many adults requesting them as children. This is something fun for all ages, and is a great theme for Halloween.

“Halloween is always a favourite time here at Happily Ever Afters -mainly as my birthday is Halloween. We have lots planned including Halloween slime making sessions, villain brunch sessions and of course the afternoon teas.

“We will be adding further dates all throughout Halloween half term week and weekends as it is already proving very popular We also work alongside fabulous magicians. Who doesn’t love magic?”
