Free Bounce Beyond mini-trampoline sessions in Margate and Ramsgate

Bounce Beyond mini-trampoline fun and fitness

Free Bounce Beyond mini-trampoline workshops are being held in Millmead and Newington this Summer.

Broadstairs husband and wife team Ray and Karen Mitchell have been funded by Thanet council and Orbit housing to run the sessions as part of the authority’s B: Active project.

The pair own Bounce Beyond and provide fitness classes on high quality mini-trampolines.

Karen said: “We provide high intensity and exciting classes with great music designed by us. Rebounding is low impact on joints and our rebounders (trampolines) have been specifically designed to take away 87% of impact.

“We have many clients who have had previous knee/hip surgeries and find this a suitable exercise for them.

“We use lights and smoke machines to create a fun and club style environment and welcome everyone to our class regardless of ability. We are here to help you get fitter and most of all enjoy it!”

In Margate free sessions are held at Trinity Resource Centre, St Mary’s Avenue, from 6pm to 6,45pm every other Thursday. The next session is on August 2.

In Newington the first session is this Thursday (July 26) from 10.30am to 11.30am at Newington Community Centre, Princess Margaret Avenue. It will then be held every other Thursday. The famili-focused sessions are suitable for those aged 5 and above.

To book for either venue go to www.bounce-beyond.co.uk or call 07523 855596.

The couple also provide Bounce Beyond school workshops, mainly in infant, primary and special needs schools. The sessions are adapted to age and ability and are inclusive with stability bars where needed.

Youngsters fun sessions use Bounce Counters to bring maths into the activity and challenge the pupils brains. There is also a Bounce-a-Mile challenge.

Ray and Karen both have backgrounds in special educational needs enabling them to tailor workshops. Karen was a teaching assistant at Stone Bay School for over 10 years and Ray has been a head of PE and assistant head teacher as well as a former national high jumper and volleyball player.

Ray said: “We are passionate about what we do and love being able to bring to as many schools as possible.”
