Man cut free from car in Ramsgate crash

A man has been cut free from his car after it overturned in Manston Road, Ramsgate.

Crews were called at 8.35pm tonight (June 26) to the incident at the slip road leading from Haine Road to Manston Road. Firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to free the man who was trapped inside. He was passed into the care of of the ambulance service and later arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.

A Kent Police spokesman said: “Kent Police received a report of a collision involving two vehicles at 8.30pm.

“Officers attended the scene in Manston Road, Ramsgate with other emergency services, where a man was released from a vehicle and taken to a local hospital. He was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.

“The road remained closed until around 12.30am while debris and an oil spillage were cleared from the carriageway.”
