Police are appealing for witnesses after armed intruders forced their way into a Ramsgate home and threatened a man with a knife.

The incident happened at a property in Royal Road between midnight and 1am on Tuesday 12 June.

It was reported that the victim, a man in his 50s, received minor injuries after the intruders forced their way in and threatened him with the knife.

Two men who were wearing dark clothing and balaclavas then ran from the address without taking anything.

Officers are carrying out enquiries and reviewing all CCTV opportunities. In the meantime they would like anyone with information to call the Kent Police appeal line on 01843 222289 quoting ZY/032716/18.

Alternatively call Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

  1. Is there a serial knifeman burgling homes in Ramsgate? There have been a number of reports with similar incidents. If so then people need to know the police are out to catch this guy, and soon.

  2. We’ve had mutiple crashes on my road this week because of people using the route as a race track, someone was beaten senseless outside my house yesterday evening, and now this – armed intruders breaking into homes on the seafront, minutes away from where I live. If this was London (or anywhere in West Kent) there would be door-to-door investigations. I have a friend who lives in Royal Road and she says she hasn’t seen any police followup in the street. I appreciate funding is tight, but bloody hell – can we please prioritise some police presence in Ramsgate!
