Grime artist Big Narstie coming to Margate

Grime artist Big Narstie to headline the Scenic Stage at Dreamland.

The first day of the summer holidays will see the Dreamland Block Party – a new event for young people, take place  with entertainment throughout the day and during the evening.

One of the UK’s most successful grime artists, Big Narstie, will headline play on Saturday  July 21 with a supporting line-up including classic garage act, Oxide & Neutrino and Jammz.

The park will be transformed into a New York-style street party as the first ever Dreamland Block Party takes place. The event blends music, street style, dance and sports.

During the day

Professional BMX flatland rider and three-time Guinness World Record Holder Matti Hemmings will be presenting a BMX competition. Designer to the stars, Siobhan Hogan, will be fronting an interactive marketplace and there will be DJs and MCs playing funk and soul, rap and hip-hop.

B.supreme will be leading hip-hop dancing and Yo! Street Zone will be teaching football skills throughout the event. Pie Factory Music will also be hosting activities in song writing, recording and DJ workshops.

Also set to entertain the crowds and described as “London’s premiere hip-hop party” are The Doctor’s Orders, who will also be at the park for a feel-good history of hip-hop DJ set. With regular events at Fabric, East Village, The Jazz Café and Scala to name a few, their previous guests have included De La Soul and Jazzy Jeff.

All daytime activities are included within park entry.

Evening event

In the evening, Tyrone Lindo, aka Big Narstie, takes to the outdoor Scenic Stage. Narstie has collaborated with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Professor Green and Coldplay and was awarded ‘Song of the Year’ by RWD magazine for ‘Brushman’.
