Scissor Sisters star Ana Matronic set to celebrate Margate Pride at Dreamland gig

Scissor Sisters star Ana Matronic will play a headline DJ set at Dreamland’s Scenic Stage in celebration of the Margate Pride event.

The Sunset Session will take place on the evening of Saturday, August 11, the day Margate Pride takes place.

Matronic has made a profession out of soundtracking the good times in life; whether it’s on stage as a member of Scissor Sisters or on air as Radio 2’s Doyenne of Disco, she has made a name for herself.

Also taking to the stage for the Sunset Session with Margate Pride will be Betsy. Described by the Sunday Times as an “incandescent new talent”, Betsy has a force-of-nature voice and has been working with the likes of Joe Goddard of Hot Chip.

Margate Pride is a celebration of all of Thanet’s LGBTQI life and this year’s event will focus on alternative culture, community activism and local and international talent.

 Rebecca Ellis, Senior Creative Producer at Dreamland Margate, said: “Here at Dreamland we’re thrilled to be working with Margate Pride again. Our Sunset Sessions are incredibly popular, so it’s great to be able to join forces with such a brilliant community event in this way.

“The park recently received an award for ‘Best Event Venue over 1000 capacity’, which is a fantastic achievement for the team and we’re looking forward to programming many more large-scale events in 2018!”

Tickets £7.50 on the door, £15 including rides and entry.
