Police appeal over suspected theft from cars in Ramsgate

Kent Police

Officers investigating a report of people acting suspiciously near parked cars in Ramsgate are encouraging people with information to come forward.

Shortly before 5am on Sunday (May 13) police received the report and attended the area to carry out a search.

Investigating officer PC Steve Rose said: “Although we have made enquiries in the area, there may be car owners whose vehicles were parked in the Hereson Road, Muir Road and St David’s Road area of Ramsgate overnight between Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 May, who have not yet spoken to an officer. We would ask them to check their vehicles to see if any items have been stolen.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who thinks their vehicle may have been tampered with, or damaged during the same night.

“It’s possible that people haven’t reported it to police yet as they didn’t think it was serious enough to report or haven’t noticed the damage yet.’

“We ask that people call 01843 222289 quoting 13-0210 as their information may assist our enquiries.”

One man arrested in relation to this investigation has since been released without charge.
