Stage Door Theatre Company to hold Annie auditions

Annie auditions are being held this week

Auditions take place this week for roles in the latest production by  Stage Door Theatre Company.

The company will present Broadway classic Annie in Margate from August 16-18, theatre and ticket sale details to be announced soon.

Auditions for orphans and junior principal roles take place on Wednesday (May 16) from 5pm at Stage Doors base in Ramsgate. Adult principal roles and ensemble auditions take place on May 20 from 5.30pm. Full details of times and address are in the audition packs.

Stage Door Theatre Company has built up a name for itself by producing quality productions with a community focus. Previous shows have included Hairspray, Rent, Billy Elliot, Miss Saigon and Les Miserables.

Annie is set in 1930s depression hit New York City. Annie is forced to live a life of misery and torment at Miss Hannigan’s orphanage. However, she is determined to find her real parents. Her luck changes when she is chosen to spend Christmas at the residence of famous billionaire, Oliver Warbucks.

Adventure and magic follow as Annie transforms all those around her. With the help of her fellow orphans she foils Miss Hannigan’s wicked plans and discovers the true meaning of family.

It is a story that is as relevant today as it ever was, with its themes of optimism and determination. Musical highlights include Tomorrow, Easy Street, N.Y.C and You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile.
