Comedian Jason Manford brings ‘Muddle Class’ to Margate

An extra Margate date has been added to the 2018 tour for comedy star Jason Manford.

His ‘Muddle Class’ show will be performed at the Winter Gardens on May 19.

In addition to the new tour, Jason hosts his ratings-winning three-hour live show on Absolute Radio every Sunday morning. He recently hosted the critically acclaimed Sunday night primetime ITV1 game show, Bigheads, as well as The Nightly Show on ITV1.

In October Jason released his debut album ‘A Different Stage’ on Decca Records. Inspired by Manford’s love for musical theatre, ‘A Different Stage’ ranges from show tunes he has performed in the past, to songs that are close to his heart and some of his childhood favourites.

In what little spare time he has, Jason runs Manford’s Comedy Club with his brother Colin. Showcasing the best comedians of the moment – both established names and the stars of tomorrow – to audiences across the country.

Muddle Class is an  exploration of Jason’s confusion about his current social status. The comedian said: “It came from watching other unnamed comedians chatting about being in the queue at Sports Direct. I was saying to myself, ‘You don’t shop at Sports Direct!’

“So, I started thinking, ‘What happens if you have some success as a comedian? Do you have to stop doing stand-up because you are different from other people?’ Of course you don’t. What doesn’t change is your relationship with your family and friends. There’s still a huge amount of comedy in that.

“A lot of people count themselves as ‘Muddle Class’. They find themselves in a place where they think, ‘I don’t know where I belong anymore’. The show is about being in that sort of social muddle.”

See the show on May 19 from 7.30pm (doors open at 6,45pm).
