Foreland Fields pupils raise funds for new playground with brilliant Spring concert

Foreland Fields pupils have held their Spring concert

Pupils at Foreland Fields School in Ramsgate have performed alongside Snowdown Colliery Welfare Male Voice Choir and musicians Tom Abrahams and Denny Wood for their Spring concert.

Teacher Andy Tuffs said: “The pupils gained valuable inspiration from such an opportunity to hear quality live performances, as well as a deal of self-confidence when performing their own music. The concert also proved to be wonderfully inclusive.

“Our pupils took great delight in being able to perform on stage alongside the adult singers and musicians. With a soloist from our school gradually being joined by all the other singers, young and old, in a version of ‘One Voice’; and our pupils able to stand amongst “the big men” of the Male Voice Choir during the finale performance of ‘Rock Around the Clock’.”

The concert has raised an impressive £1694.50.  The funds will go towards a new specialised junior playground at the new school.

Foreland Fields  thanked sponsors Dumpton Park Garage, Airport Connections, Schoolwear Centre and Caterlink.

The school is also competing for a prize in the Asda charity green token scheme. They are one of the projects shoppers at Westwood Asda can vote for by popping their token in the box.

Winners in the scheme are awarded £500 with two runner up prizes of £200.
