Thanet council leader Cllr Bob Bayford, said: “Thanet’s and particularly Margate’s popularity as a location for filming and photography shows no sign of slowing down.
“Crews have been here throughout the winter and we’ve seen a run of wonderful British fashion brands using our beautiful beaches as a backdrop to showcase their work. It’s great to see creative teams coming here and contributing to the raised profile of the area.”
Botany Bay has been the backdrop for numerous music videos, film shoots and fashion locations over the last 12 months.
Filming at the beach includes scenes for Sky Atlantic’s The Tunnel, a Bollywood movie, music videos for Shawn Mendez and The Sherlocks and, most recently, as the site for a short film launching the new fashion collection by British writer and model Alexa Chung.
