Coastguard rescue teams from Margate and Deal, Margate RNLI and Kent Police were called out this afternoon (April 3) to a report of someone having fallen from the cliff near the Captain Digby in Kingsgate.

It was soon established that the casualty had just slipped on the rocks and suffered an ankle injury.

Police transported the person to QEQM hospital. The lifeboat was recalled while en-route to Kingsgate.

A Margate RNLI spokesman said: “We urge everyone to take great care while exploring our coastline and remember, if you see anything untoward at sea or on the shoreline dial 999 and ask for the coastguard.”
