Witness appeal after assault and attempted robbery of boy in Ramsgate by three children

Police are trying to trace a witness to the attempted robbery of a boy in Ramsgate.

Kent Police received a report that at around 3.30pm on Wednesday 29 November 2017, a boy was sitting on a bench in Leopold Street when he was approached by a group of children on bicycles.
Two of the children, one described as a boy with ginger hair and a second described as a boy wearing a blue top with red trim, reportedly assaulted the victim.

A girl described as having dark hair then attempted to steal his mobile phone before they all cycled away from the area.

A 12-year-old boy from Ramsgate was arrested on Thursday 30 November on suspicion of robbery and assault. He was later released under investigation.

Officers are trying to trace a woman who spoke to the victim immediately after the incident and anybody else who may have information that can help with the investigation.
