A Margate seven year old needs your help to raise money for a special children’s charity

Hope wants to donate her hair and sponsorship money to the Little Princess Trust

A big-hearted Margate schoolgirl is going to have her hair chopped to help make ‘poorly children better.’

Hope Whittingham, seven, is to grow her locks even longer before  getting the cut in July. The hair will go to The Little Princess Trust which provides wigs for children who have hair loss due to cancer or other illnesses.

Hope, a pupil at St Gregory’s Catholic School, will have the haircut by the entrance of the Tesco store at Westwood at 2pm-2,30pm on July 21.

Mum Michelle Allen said: “Hope asked me if she could grow her hair so it can be cut and used to make wigs for poorly children who have lost their hair because of treatment.

“She said she doesn’t like them being sad and wished she could make them better. She knows donating her hair to make wigs will at least boost a child’s confidence and put a smile on their face.

“I am very proud of her. Any donation big or small is appreciated.”

Hope is also raising money for the Trust through sponsorship on a Justgiving page. She has set a £200 target.
