Record breaking Christmas cracker pulling attempt to take place at Ellington Park

Can the record be taken by Ramsgate?

An attempt to break the world record for the most people pulling Christmas crackers at the same time will take place at Ellington Park in Ramsgate this evening (December 17).

The festive challenge is to run alongside a traditional ‘carols by candlelight’ service for the whole community.

There will be a brass band, choir, hot drinks, mince pies, chocolate rolls, a food van and a snow blower. All are welcome and the event is free to attend!

Organisers have got 2,000 Christmas crackers for the world record attempt.

The record is currently held  by Honda in Japan where 1,478 participants  took part in the event organised by Honda R&D KEN-YU-KAI Tochigi (Japan) at Tochigi Proving Ground, Tochigi, Japan, on October 18, 2009.

The carols and Christmas cracker fun takes place from 5.30pm for drinks with a  6pm start.
