Free film club in Ramsgate offers teenagers a chance to get involved with movie industry

A film club for teens in Ramsgate is offering free sessions

Young people aged 15 to 19 with an interest in media careers are being invited to join a new film club in Ramsgate.

The club is for teens interested in directing, camera, editing, special effects, props and design, costume, make up or any other aspect of filmmaking.

The club is free to anyone with a genuine interest in pursuing a career in film or television irrespective of academic ability. No prior experience necessary.

The club is mentored by professionals actively working in the UK film industry and able to help youngsters apply for the UK’s prestigious BFI Youth Film Academy.

Guest speakers have included BAFTA and Oscar nominated and winning practitioners from the world of TV and Film.

Activities include making and viewing music videos, short films, documentaries and animation films.

The Kent Film Foundation is a charity based in Cliff Street and the film club has been possible due to the support of the Coyer Fergusson Trust.

The film club takes place every Wednesday during term time only from 4pm to 5.30pm. Anyone interested in attending should email [email protected]  for more information.
