Hilderstone Radio Club helps St Joseph’s primary pupils ‘light up’ for Christmas

Christmas light fun at St Joseph's

Imagine the delight and excitement of an 8 year old when he or she switches on the circuit they have constructed and it works first time!

Eleven pupils from years 4, 5 and 6 of St Joseph’s primary school – and one mother – spent a Saturday morning making a flashing LED Christmas tree. The components are very small and it is easy to get some of them the wrong way round.

It was the first time that the children had used a soldering iron, so they did extremely well, helped by members of the Hilderstone Radio Club. One boy said he was very proud of what he had achieved – and rightly so!

The club members had fun too and they felt that the wide grins and cheers were reward enough for their efforts and time.
