Thieves steal cigarettes in Birchington store burglary

Raiders have struck twice

Kent Police is appealing for witnesses after cigarettes were  stolen from a convenience store in Birchington.

Offenders are believed to have broken into the shop in Station Road at about 4.15am on Monday 6 November.

Detective Sergeant Brian Doughty said: “Three offenders jemmied open the doors at the front of the store and stole a quantity of cigarettes. We believe the offenders had a large builders’ supply-type bag with them. They also more than likely had a vehicle parked nearby.

‘We are asking anyone who saw people acting suspiciously in the area at the time to contact us. We would also like to hear from anyone offered cigarettes for sale.”
