A cheque for £1,500 has been presented to QEQM Hospital in Margate following fundraising efforts by members of the Coastal Crafty Crew.
The crew, founded by Jan Kelsea-Simmons, holds monthly fairs selling handmade goods in Westgate and Birchington.
Proceeds from fairs over the past 10 months have been donated to Rainbow children’s ward, the Special Care Baby Unit and the Dementia Unit.
Jan handed the cheque to representatives from the East Kent Hospitals Charity. Each ward will receive £500.
Jan said: “None of this would have been possible without the support of the stallholders and members of the public since the foundation of the Crafty Crew in December 2016.
“Special thanks to the head teacher and head caretaker at King Ethelbert School for allowing the crew to use their main halls. Thanks also to all of the crew’s stallholders, local businesses and companies who so generously donated tombola prizes.”
The crew will now start fundraising for 2018.
