7 Thanet road closures to be aware of in half term (from October 23)

Ramsgate Road, Broadstairs

October 23-26

Road closure on 23rd October for 3 nights (19:00-05:00). An alternative diversion route will be signed while the road is closed. This is to enable Kent County Council to carry out resurfacing works.

Fairfield Road, Broadstairs

Road closed until October 29 to allow KCC Highways to carry out works to install a new Puffin Crossing.

Fairfield Road will be closed between the junctions with A255 Broadstairs Road and Fairfield Park. The alternative route for all through traffic is via A255 Broadstairs Road, A256 Westwood Road and Rumfields Road.

Access to the remainder of Fairfield Road continues from a southern (Rumfields Road / Bromstone Road) direction up to where the road is actually closed.

Nash Road, Margate

Closed to through traffic near the Nash Farm Shop from October 23-27 to enable Kent County Council to carry out crash remedial works including signing, high-friction surfacing and new road markings.

The alternative routes for through traffic are Northbound via Star Lane, A254 Ramsgate Road and B2052 College Road Southbound via B2052 Tivoli Road, Beatrice Road, A254 Ramsgate Road and Star Lane

Monkton Road, Minster

Road closed October 23 for 5 days to allow for KCC Highways drainage works. The road will be closed between the junction of Prospect Road and approximately property 51 just before the junction of Freemans Road.

The alternative route is via Monkton Street, Willetts Hill, A299 Canterbury Road West, Tothill Street, Monkton Road and vice versa. Please allow extra time for your journey.

Cliffsend Road, Cliffsend

Closed between Foads Lane and Chapman Fields from October 23 with estimated completion by November 20. The closure is to allow junction modifications and the installation of drainage to be carried out by Barkemp Construction for a new housing development.

The alternative route is via Foads Lane, Foads Hill, Canterbury Road West, Lord of the Manor Interchange and Sandwich Road.

Grosvenor Hill, Margate

Closed between Park Place and Grosvenor Place from October 23 until November 3 to enable urgent sewer repairs to be carried out by Cappagh Browne Utilities working with Southern Water.

The section of Grosvenor Hill between the junctions with Park Place and Grosvenor Place will become 2-way to allow limited essential access / exit to where the road is closed.

The alternative route is via Park Place, A255 Grosvenor Gardens, High Street, Ramsgate Road, Queens Avenue and Grosvenor Place.

Hall By The Sea Road, Margate

Closed between 6pm-11.30pm between Marine Terrace to 40 metres east of Dreamland’s main entrance up until October 25. Access to the remainder of Hall by the Sea Road continues from an eastern (Belgrave Road) direction up to where the road is actually closed.

The One-way Traffic Order in respect of Hall by the Sea Road will be suspended, to allow essential access / exit up to the point of closure. These closures are for the safety of the public whilst the Screamland Scare Festivals are being held at Dreamland.
