A Ramsgate businessman is lighting up Thanet – literally

The lit up Water Tower

A Ramsgate freelance technician in events, installation and electrics is planning to brighten up the isle with fantastic light displays.

James Brown, of James Brown AV, says illuminations will be springing up on isle buildings over the coming weeks.

His first project was the transformation of the Water Tower in Southwood Road on Tuesday night.

James, who specialises in AV installations, event set ups, PAT testing and stock hire, has worked in Europe and at UK sites including Alton Towers. He moved back to Ramsgate three years ago and says he wants to help promote the best bits of the isle.

The former Chatham House lad said: “We have got some fantastic architecture and lots to offer. I have a friend who lives at the Water Tower and so got to try the idea out there. You don’t need much to make something look really good.”

The Water Tower lighting took just 45 minutes and 6 LED Par Can lights to create – and there are plans for more.

James, 31, said: “I’ve got plans to do this all around Thanet and hope to do another half a dozen before Christmas.”

James is currently working on a wedding fair event at North Foreland Golf Club on Saturday. The fair is between 10:30am to 2:30pm and is free entry.

Watch this space for the next project!
