Behind bars

A drug dealer who was caught in Margate with a plastic egg full of class A has been jailed for 31 months.

Elvis Stirkis, 20, of Norfolk Road was arrested after Kent Police officers suspected he was dealing drugs in an alleyway not far from his home.

The officers, who were out on patrol on Wednesday 22 September 2017, found Stirkis holding a plastic egg containing heroin and cocaine. The drugs were seized along with a mobile phone and cash.

Following a search of his home address more cash was seized and a list containing information that investigators found to be connected to the supply of controlled drugs.

Stirkis pleaded guilty to possessing criminal property and two counts of possessing a controlled class A drug and was sentenced at Canterbury Crown Court on Tuesday 3 October 2017.

Detective Sergeant Clive Horne said: “We will do everything we can to tackle drug dealing in Thanet and identify those responsible. Stirkis will now spend time in prison where he has an opportunity to reflect on his actions and consider his future.”

  1. There seems there is an epidemic of drug dealing in Thanet at the moment with a lot of it coming down from places like London and Birmingham. Some being dealt straight out of high powered vehicles. The more of this scum that is put away behind bars the better.
