Third arrest made over Sundowners bar ‘disturbance’

Police have requested a licence review

A third man has been arrested following a disturbance at Sundowners bar in Margate that left two men needing hospital treatment.

Police were called the bar in Albert Terrace at 2.29am on Sunday 6 August.

A 19-year-old man from Margate and a 22-year-old man from Birchington were arrested on suspicion of affray on 6 August. The 22-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of criminal damage. Both men have been released pending further enquiries.

A third man, aged 23 from Margate, was arrested on Tuesday 8 August on suspicion of affray in connection with the same incident. He has also been released pending further enquiries.

Officers continue to appeal for witnesses to come forward. Anyone with information about the disturbance or who was in the area at the time and has not yet spoken to officers, is asked to call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 06-193.
