BBC filming Jamie in Margate

BBC South East is filming in Thanet for a series about photographers across the region.

The programme, due to come out on BBC South East’s website and social media accounts next month, focuses on regular contributors to its daily photo of the day feature.

It is being hosted by presenter Stuart Maisner.

Among those being interviewed are Big Up Thanet facebook page creator and photographer Mel Chennell and 12-year-old Jamie Horton who featured on The Isle of Thanet News in June.

The Hartdown pupil has stormed the isle photography scene on social media and through several Thanet exhibitions.

The crew filmed him in Margate Old Town, by the sea defences and at the King Street gallery yesterday (July 26).

Mel is being filmed today.

She recently exhibited as part of Thanet Exposed at the New Kent Art Gallery in Broadstairs.

Both currently have work on display at the Thanet photographers exhibition which runs at the King Street Studio and Gallery in Margate until Saturday.
