A child was taken to Ashford hospital with injuries after being hit by a car in Broadstairs yesterday (July 12).

Kent Police and the South East Coast Ambulance Service were called to Convent Road at 3.45pm.

A Kent Police spokesman said: “A child suffered injuries to her lower body. She was taken to hospital for treatment.”

The young girl bit through her tongue and had suspected hip and pelvis breaks. She was kept in the William Harvey Hospital overnight but is now at home recovering.

At the moment the youngster is unable to walk unaided and cannot eat solid foods as she has stitches in her tongue and cuts and bruises.

Her mum  told The Isle of Thanet News that her daughter would, thankfully, be ok and had suffered no broken bones.
