Crowds have filled Ellington Park in Ramsgate for the first day of the Battles for Victory event.

Military vehicles, music and stalls are all on offer.

Tomorrow there will be the rare  chance to see  the only big band performing the music of Glenn Miller that has direct family links to the musician will take place at the Battle for Victory event in Ramsgate.

John Miller is the nephew of big band leader Glenn who disappeared when the plane he was in went down while flying over the English Channel in 1944.

The performance is the only one scheduled for the band this Summer.

Other attractions include a military and vintage vehicle display, wartime reenactors, stalls, bars, barbecue and a NAAFI wagon and vintage funfair and miniature steam engine rides.

The 1940s/50s themed fun runs on July 8 and July 9 at Ellington Park, Park Road, Ramsgate. Gates open at 10am each day and entry is £2.
