A woman has been taken to hospital for checks following a crash in Ramsgate this afternoon (July 4).

Fire crews from Margate and Ramsgate, as well as Kent Police, attended the scene of a two car collision in Margate Road at the junctions of Newlands Road and Whitehall Road.

They were called out at 3.30pm as a precaution to make the scene safe.

A Kent Police spokesman said: “Kent Police received a report of a collision involving two cars in Newlands Road, Ramsgate, at 3.29pm.

“Officers attended the scene along with KFRS and the South East Coast Ambulance Service following a report of minor injuries.

“The road was closed while the emergency services were at the scene. It was reopened at 4.25pm.”
