Margate’s RNLI inshore lifeboat was called out yesterday afternoon (Thursday 1 June) after two adult males on an inflatable kayak were reported to be in difficulties of West Bay, Westgate-on-Sea.
A passing survey vessel stood by the kayak until the lifeboat arrived and the two men in the kayak were taken on board the inshore lifeboat.
Both were found to be safe and well and together with their craft were returned to the safety of the beach at West Bay.
Safety advice was provided to the two regarding going to sea in an inflatable craft with an offshore wind blowing.
