Thanet Cosplay will help officially open a new Ramsgate fantasy store today

Geek Havok

Members of Thanet Cosplay will be out in an array of weird and wonderful costumes for the official opening of Ramsgate fantasy store Geek Havok.

Food, music, a 10% discount and even cuddles on request will be on offer today (May 27) from 9am to 6pm.

The shop is the creation of Ramsgate dad-of-two Johnny Simpson and pal Ian Reddin, who is currently studying a PHD and Kent and Canterbury University.

The premises was formerly a doll shop but after several months of clearing and refurbishment it is now a hub of all things fantasy.

The aim is to have something for everyone rather than catering to a niche market.

Good include comics, graphic novels, encyclopedias, statues, figures, toys, DVDs, games and more.

Geek Havok is at 4 Turner Street.
