Ramsgate Tandoori owner Raushan Ara will be treating mums with a special gift on Mothering Sunday.
Raushan, who has been at the helm of the Harbour Street restaurant for 28 years, says having three generations of customers pass through her doors – and eat at her tables – means she can keep on updating the menu to suit contemporary tastes.
Signature dishes include Fish Bengal, King Prawn Piaz, Salmon Tikka Masala, Fish Malabar, Tropical Monsoon Stir-Fry, and all the old favourites such as Kurma, Madras, Vindaloo, Biriani, Rogan Josh, Rezala, and of course, Chicken Tikka Masala are available too.
Vegetarian and vegan options are also available.
There are lots of choices in the menu, such as Chana Masala, Saag Aloo, Aloo Gobi, Bombay Aloo, Aubergine Bhaji, Bhindi Bhaji, and everyone’s delight, Tarka Dahl.
The restaurant also offers a vegan kurma.
Chefs use an original clay oven tandoor, where all the Tandoori and Tikka dishes, Shashlik, Shiek Kebab, Salmon Tikka, and King Prawn Tandoori – and most importantly, the freshly made Naan bread and Tandoori Roti (vegan option), are freshly cooked as and when customer orders.

All mums eating at the restaurant on Mothering Sunday will receive a gift, said Raushan who is a mum-of-two.
Raushan said: “I love Ramsgate – it has been my pleasure and delight to serve the local community with our authentic food, and to build up many friendships with our customers over the last 28 years.
“My customers are my social life as well as my business.”
Raushan is also involved with the community and on the World Food for International Women’s Day (March 8) she raised £500 for East Kent Mencap to use for the Forester’s Hall.
Ramsgate Tandoori is fully licensed and can cater for large party bookings.
