Tiny Chihuahua Jasmine is reunited with owner after ‘dognapping’ adventure

Reunited at last! Photo Photogenic Photography

Delighted dance school owner Charlotte Silver has been reunited with her dog Jasmine after the Chihuahua escaped, was stolen, got trapped in bushes on the cliff edge at King George VI Park and was subject to a huge rescue attempt by fire crews and the RNLI!

One year old Jasmine went missing from Margate yesterday (June 25) and was then spotted being carried by two men in Ramsgate.

Charlotte, from Birchington, had Jasmine with her at Club World on Marine Terrace when the dog escaped.

Initial reports suggested a man was spotted holding Jasmine as he walked towards Turner Contemporary at around 1pm.

Later that afternoon two men were seen with the dog in Ramsgate. It is believed they let her loose in the King George VI Park.

Jasmine then bolted after being chased by another dog and both animals ended up on the clifftop.

A search and rescue mission was carried out by Kent fire crews and Ramsgate RNLI, along with members of the Missing Dogs and Strays facebook page, last night but services called off their search at around midnight.

The first dog, a Jack Russell, was retrieved but Jasmine was still missing.

The search continued today until a post to the Missing Dogs page by Hayley Hoose to say a tiny Chihuahua was safe in her parent’s home.

Charlotte and Jasmine were reunited this evening.
