This is why you might have spotted a pair of yellow wellies on Dreamland’s Scenic Railway

Margate’s RNLI lifeboat crew see off the fundraisers who travelled with the wellies to Whitstable in a vintage Rolls-Royce Photo RNLI Margate

A pair of yellow RNLI wellies have visited Ramsgate, taken a ride on Dreamland’s  Scenic Railway and headed off to Whitstable in a 1920s vintage Rolls-Royce.

In Ramsgate they were taken to  the RNLI Ramsgate Shop, RNLI Ramsgate Lifeboat Station, Old Broadstairs Lifeboat “Francis Forbes Barton” in the Boat Park, Coco Latino, Ship Shape, Royal Temple Yacht Club & Mariners Bar.

The boots were then transferred to RNLI Margate on the Stagecoach Loop, where they also stopped off at the Lifeboat pub.

The boots are being taken on an epic journey from Portishead to Harwich for the RNLI’s Mayday Welly Relay.

The 31-day challenge, which ends on May 31, is to make sure the boots travel around the South West, South and South East coast through 65 lifeboat stations in as many innovative ways as possible.
