Southern Water repairs to a burst main in the Ebbsfleet/Pegwell Bay area have now been completed,.
The burst had extended onto adjacent farm land and the landowner provided permission for mitigation works to take place.
Tankers were on site to support the work and there was an increased tanker presence from the burst location and around Margate Wastewater Pumping Station during yesterday.
A Southern Water spokesperson said: “Our teams have completed repairs to a burst rising main in a rural area near Ramsgate.
“To carry out the work safely and efficiently, repairs were undertaken overnight on Tuesday 15 September when flows through the rising main were at their lowest, with an increase in tankering activity in the area during the works.
“At no point was there any impact to customers, bathing waters, local watercourses or the wider environment.
“We would like to thank local residents for their patience and understanding while these essential repairs were completed.”
Repairs are now complete and the rising main is operating as normal.
Let’s hope they don’t drive along roads they have no business driving along, as they did the toll bridge at sandwich, damaging it leading to its long term closure and expensive repair. A disgraceful situation. They should be fleeced for the cost of repairs as they fleece the consumer normally. They will only increase costs to cover the loss so their share holders still get their payout along with there CEO, for a shoddy service. Fix that government.
