Broadstairs & St. Peter’s Town Council is hosting the return of its ‘Summer Theatre in The Park’.
The month-long series of free live performances will take place in the open-air setting of Pierremont Hall, running from 28 July through to 27 August.
“Summer Theatre is a fantastic way to bring our community together,” says Town Mayor Cllr George Rusiecki. “We want to boost local well-being by keeping high-quality cultural entertainment free and accessible for everyone.” Thanks to a partnership with Applause Rural Touring, the varied line-up delivers two unique shows each week for both adults and families (taking a short break the week of 10 August).
To support local environmental initiatives, the council is hosting a ‘Trash to Treasure’ craft workshop before each family show, running from 11am to 1pm. The sessions are free and open to all on a first-come, first-served basis.
As part of a broader push to deliver a plastic-free theatre series, the workshops will focus on recycled materials. Audience members are welcome to bring blankets and picnics, with additional refreshments available at an on-site licensed bar.
All scheduled performances are set to take place outdoors in Pierremont Park, where seating is limited. In the event of inclement weather, performances will be safely relocated inside Pierremont Hall, where indoor capacity will be strictly limited.
