Thanet’s Regency Productions Youth were one of just three groups internationally selected to perform a New Works Showcase at this year’s Junior Theatre Festival in Birmingham.
Held by world-renowned musical theatre rights holders, Music Theatre International, Regency Productions were hand-selected to be one of the showcase groups, piloting a new show to over 5,000 people at the ICC last weekend.
“This is a huge achievement, and to have been picked is an absolute honour. We were overwhelmed when we were asked and proud that our wonderful cast get to show the world what they can do” said Parisa Tarjomani, owner of Regency Productions.
Not only did they stage the showcase performance, but they also entered the Musical Theatre Competition, coming home with five awards, including the top spot; Outstanding Adjudication.
There were also student creative awards, given to Bertie Bromwich, Douglas Manclarke and Miles Pullman, for their amazing work supporting the production creatively.
