Young musicians rocked the school with a high energy concert at St Gregory’s Primary in Margate.
Lots of excitement was generated by the young performers and it transmitted from the stage to a packed audience of proud parents, teachers and fellow pupils.
The showcase for the talented musicians was the latest event in the school’s busy music provision programme that has been expanding since September.
This includes introducing a band ensemble lead by the Rocksteady Music School team to give pupils the opportunity to learn instruments and experience playing in a band.
During the past term children have been working together in bands, learning to play instruments such as drums, guitar, keyboard, and vocals. The initiative focuses not only on musical skills but also on teamwork, confidence, and creativity.
The concert featured a lively set of performances with each band demonstrating their progress and enthusiasm. From energetic rock anthems to confident vocal performances, the performers impressed the audience with their dedication and stage presence.
Jordan Gilbert, the school’s Music Lead and Key Stage 2 teacher, said: “It is a joy seeing the children grow in confidence. We have some real potential rock stars in this school and we are so pleased to offer this opportunity. I wish I had started playing in bands at their age.”
Head Teacher Dave Walker praised the performances of all the young players and added: “We are impressed at the way our expanding music provision has caught the imagination and engaged so many children.
“The event was a joyful celebration of music and learning, highlighting the importance of creative opportunities within the school community.”
