Reception children at Cliftonville Primary and Pre-School have set off to “infinity and beyond” this week with an exciting start to their term’s topic on “Space Explorers”.
The children were thrilled by an engaging visit from the WonderDome Planetarium where each class blasted off on an awe-inspiring virtual tour of the planets and discovered amazing facts about our universe.
The children were captivated by the presenter who made the sessions both fun and interactive whilst sharing amazing facts about the planets in our solar system, the adventures of astronauts and the power of rockets.
The experience was so inspiring that for the following days, rockets could be found everywhere in the Early Years building! The children are also enjoying a host of space-themed books including “Whatever Next!” and “Aliens Love Underpants” as part of the topic.
Early Years Phase Leader Karen Hill said: “It was such a wonderful learning opportunity for the children to experience the sheer scale of our universe. It really sparked their interest and creativity.”
