Competitors from the Hurricane Shotokan Karate Club Thanet and brought home a massive 22 medals from the WUMF World Karate Championship held in Crawley.
Thirteen athletes represented Hurricane Karate Club both as individuals and in team categories.
In total the club won eight golds, six silvers and eight bronze medals.
Among them was Izabella P who at just five years old is already a four time world champ with her four golds.

Maya K. – individual kata in a very tough category 1x Silver Medal
Kayden S. – individual kumite 1x Silver Medal
Zuzanna N. – individual kumite 1x Bronze Medal
Antoni U. – his first competition and medals already with 1x Silver Medal and 1x Bronze Medal
Francesca S. – individual kata 1x Silver Medal
Joel B. – world champ with 1x Gold Medal, 1x Silver Medal and 2x Bronze Medal
Wojtek S. – great achievement with 1x Bronze Medal
Inga P. – world champ with 1x Gold Medal, 1x Silver Medal and 2x Bronze Medal
Sensei Tom – world champ with 2x Gold Medal
Sensei Antonina & Sensei Filip were also very close to the medals.
Support came from Pass Driving School, Quex Barn School and Quex Barn.
Hurricane Shotokan Karate Club has 60 members across its London and St George’s School in Broadstairs sites. It caters for members aged 4 and over with teaching specialised for each age group. The youngest students, aged 4 to 7, learn about karate by playing specifically designed games.
