Witnesses, CCTV and dashcam footage are sought by officers investigating a fatal collision involving a child and a bus in Margate yesterday (August 7).
Kent Police was called to Ramsgate Road shortly after 4pm following a report of the incident outside Queen Elizabeth Queen Mother Hospital.
The single decker bus was travelling near the entrance to the A&E department. Police say it was reported the pedestrian, a four year old boy, exited the hospital on foot and the collision took place.
The child was taken inside the hospital and a short while later was sadly confirmed deceased. His next of kin has been informed.
Investigators from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.

A South East Coast Ambulance service spokesperson said: “SECAmb were called at approx. 16:05 yesterday (07/08/25) to reports of a collision involving a bus and a pedestrian outside the QEQM Hospital in Margate.
“Crews assessed and treated the pedestrian at the scene before being joined by The Air Ambulance Charity, Kent Surrey Sussex. The patient was then taken into the nearby QEQM Hospital where they sadly died.”
