A woman living in Broadstairs is facing extradition to Kenya where she is required to answer to charges of fraud.
Elizabeth Mueni Ewins appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court in February and is currently on conditional bail.
She is wanted by Kenyan authorities to appear before Judges at Kilifi Law Courts to face the fraud charges.
Mrs Ewins, currently of Foreland Heights, Broadstairs, is a Kenyan national with Swiss citizenship.
The charges are understood to be connected to property transactions in the village of Watamu, Kilifi county.
A spokesperson for the Crown Prosecution Service said: “Elizabeth Ewins arrested and brought before Westminster Magistrates Court in February 2025. She is wanted in Kenya for offences of fraud.
“She is on conditional bail.
“The case management hearing is on 10 July, and the main hearing is over two days – 13 and 14 October.”
much better that she should face trial in kenya , at least that way she will feel the full force of the law , not like the pussy footing around she would receive here.

I live in Watamu. Born and raised. Strange seeing my small village being mentioned. Anyway, so many people try to take advantage of my village since it’s a paradise. I hope one day, a significant number of locals will be richer than the investors/visitors from other parts of the country and the rest of the world who come in and take advantage using money and influence.
