A Ramsgate writer, actor and filmmaker has been busy shooting scenes for his new film, which will be an entry to the Ramsgate Film Festival.
Ant Wright has used isle spots as set locations, including Ellen Avenue in Ramsgate, for Paper Round.
The film charts the journey of a 40-year-old man who owes a loan shark money. To pay back the £25 that he owes by the end of the week, he starts doing a paper round with a teenager.
It’s a comedy-tragedy that touches on male pride. Everything that happens to Richie could have been avoided if he had only asked his sister if he could borrow some money!
Ant’s previous two films both won prizes in the Ramsgate Film Festival, as well as others around the UK.
The former Hereson student said: “My first film, Brian’s Story, is a documentary about my grandfather who committed suicide when he was 24, back in 1962.

“The second film is a short black-comedy called Basement Dwellers about what happens when two serial killers meet. It’s still doing the festival circuit at the moment but will be released later this year.”
Ramsgate Film Festival is a celebration of new works by local and international filmmakers, embracing innovative storytelling and new technologies.
Ant also captures local events, from protests to events, on video.

I saw them filming two guys on bikes near North Avenue the other day. I’m so glad to have found out what they were filming as I was very intrigued!
