A man has been remanded in custody after appearing before magistrates charged with assault after another man was found with a head injury in Ramsgate.
Kent Police was called at 10.41pm on Friday 28 March to a report of an injured person in Harbour Street.
Officers attended along with paramedics and the victim, initially said to be in his 70s but now confirmed to be in his 60s, was treated for a head injury before being taken to King’s College hospital in London, where he remains in a stable condition.
Marshall Mitchell, of Crescent Road, Ramsgate, was later charged with unlawful wounding.
The 34 year old appeared before Margate Magistrates’ Court yesterday (March 31). He was remanded in custody.
The next hearing will be a pre-trial preparatory hearing at Canterbury Crown Court on 28 April.
