A persistent thief has been banned from shops in Margate after police obtained a court order to protect local businesses.
Diana Mikova, 27, formerly of New Cross Street, Margate, was jailed for 39 weeks for vehicle interference and assault in December 2024.
To prevent further offending following her release, Kent Police brought an application for a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) before East Kent Magistrates’ Court on 9 January.
The three-year order was granted, banning Mikova from touching or entering vehicles without the owner’s permission, or being in possession of any bank card which is not in her name.
After hearing of numerous previous charges and convictions for shoplifting offences, the court also included terms banning Mikova from College Walk and Boots in Margate, and Tesco in Northdown Road, Cliftonville.
PC Michelle Sherwood said: “I am pleased Mikova’s latest sentence will give the people of Margate, and the town’s businesses, a break from her offending.
“I hope this court order encourages her to mend her ways when she is released from prison. But if she does not, we will use the order to bring her back before the courts, where she could be returned to prison.”

Why oh why oh why no deportation order?
Pretty sure a year or two back the authorities took her children into consideration when deciding not to. Sad thing is she moved here with her family in 1997 & apparently lived here with no issues until 2018, when she drifted into drugs & commited her first crime.
Genuinely sad. Hope she sorts her life out.
Why no deportation order? Because the libertard, woke, bleeding heart establishment think we should fawn over thieving migrants, throwing top-class accommodation, money, phones at them, at the same time telling our pensioners they can freeze and starve this winter.
Special attention will also be lavished on those ‘non-caucasion’ rape gangs ensuring they get access to the most expensive legal aid and, no doubt, at some time in the future, they (the woke establishment) will find a way to award them £££££££££’s in compensation for the temerity of putting them in prison.
