A 45-year-old man from Ramsgate is in custody following a reported break-in at the Tesco Manston store yesterday {January 12}.
Police were called to the supermarket in Manston Road, Ramsgate, after a window was smashed and alcohol stolen between 5am and 5.30am.
A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police is investigating after a window was damaged at a supermarket in Manston Road, Ramsgate and bottles of alcohol were stolen from inside.
“The incident is believed to have taken place between 5am and 5.30am on Sunday 12 January.
“A 45-year-old man from Ramsgate was later arrested in relation to the incident and remains in custody while enquiries continue.”
